Paul Mack
How to fit these workouts in a plan?
This depends on where you are in the season, and what type of rider (sprinter, climber, all-rounder, TT specialist / sprint triathlete vs IM). That said, I think it might be appropriate to do 1 of these quality workouts during the Prep to Base 2 phase, and 2 quality workouts starting in Base 3 onward. I like a ratio of 90:10 (endurance:threshold and above) for weekly volume - in early base and prep - and 80:20 in Base 3 and beyond.
